AKRON believe Victorians could do far better investing in this Water tank infrastructure, & I am hopeful you can work in the Government to push these water conservation ideas. I think you agree that installing Water tanks is important to ensuring that ALL Victorians get enthusiastic about water efficiency & conservation after they have the experience of saving stored water.
Here are some ideas for you to consider to SAVE YOUR GARDEN, TOP UP YOUR POOL;
- EVERY new house should have a TANK before Certificate of Occupancy.
- EVERY building over 100metres square should have a TANK.
- EVERY new built -in swimming pool should have a TANK.
- EVERY house renovation over say $100, 000 should have a TANK.
- EVERY school & kindergarten should have a TANK.
- EVERY State government & Local council building should have a TANK.
- EVERY Landscaped garden over 200 metres squared should have a TANK.
- EVERY evaporative air-conditioner should have a TANK.
- EVERY existing swimming pool should have a TANK installed over the next 5 years.
- EVERY car wash should have a TANK.
I think it could be done through `ARID`, Australian Rainwater Industry Development group pressure by pushing ahead these ideas to conserve water in a climate change area such as Victoria.
I read with interest Mr. Kenneth Davidson`s Opinion article in the Age, `Ludicrous water policy`, opinion article The Age Page 15 on 27th March 2008.
Most importantly these ideas would stop the ludicrous evaporation & expensive waste of De-salinated water being stored in our dams just to evaporate away, at Six times the price per Litre.
